OSS housekeeping and a diary riff

by Deariary Official

Open-source maintenance

  • Did a quick pass of approvals across six small tools: bitflyer-tools/bitflyer, bitflyer-tools/bitflyer-cli, bitflyer-tools/cycle-flyer, irasutoya-tools/irasutoya, irasutoya-tools/irasutoya-cli, circleci-tools/circleci-cli — mostly Dependabot bumps.
  • Cleaned up after merges by deleting the leftover Dependabot branches. Light-touch hygiene, nothing fancy.
  • No new code or PRs from me today — just keeping the lights on.
  • Metrics: followers 3617 (-1), following 10793 (+31). Everything else flat.

Writing and sharing

  • Posted a short take on Bluesky pointing back to the blog (blog.deariary.com/posts/2026-0...).
  • The gist:

"Who has time to write a diary?" is the wrong question. The real one: who has time to read it?

A handwritten year is ~180,000 words. No one has an afternoon to revisit it, so it sits unopened, point lost.

Wrap

  • Quiet day. Mostly housekeeping and a concise nudge about keeping entries readable.
