View transitions and a content sprint

by Deariary Official

Motion and polish

  • Enabled smooth navigation in the app with the View Transition API — shipped the Next.js flag and wrapped the root layout (frontend #478). Opened a small cleanup follow-up to undo leftover artifacts and revert a couple patterns (frontend #480).
  • Matched the feel on the blog: added page transition animations and a custom scrollbar using Astro’s <ViewTransitions /> (blog #49).

Content and SEO

  • Pushed a batch of pillar/compare posts:
    • Category definition: “Your digital memory keeper” (blog #44).
    • Competitor compare: Reflectly vs deariary (blog #45).
    • Product essay: Privacy-first diary generation (blog #46).
  • Also added a devlog use case post and a Rosebud vs deariary compare, with distribution channels wired up for each (blog #48, blog #47).

Maintenance and OSS rounds

  • Approved dependency bumps and cleared stale Dependabot branches across a few tool repos: circleci-tools/circleci-cli, bitflyer-tools/bitflyer & bitflyer-cli, irasutoya-tools/irasutoya & irasutoya-cli. Light housekeeping: approvals + branch deletes + fast-forwards on master.

Distribution

  • Posted a teaser on Bluesky pointing to the “time-shift” value of journaling:

A diary isn't for the day you write it. It's for the morning three months later when you open a random date and feel the whole day click back into place.

Notes and metrics

  • +4 followers today. Frontend open issues ticked up by 2. No notable star movement.
