Themes shipped, launch out the door
2026-04-06
GitHub Weekly Reporter
- Landed the theme system and extracted the current look into its own theme. Closed the “custom themes” track and set up per‑theme templates/CSS.
- Shipped the new minimal theme and added light/dark toggles (also enabled it for brutalist).
- Kicked off the editorial theme (serif, warm palette, magazine vibes). Still in review with screenshots in the PR.
- Fixed commit ingestion to actually read commit messages (Events API changed) and started paginating commits so long weeks don’t get truncated.
- Other polish: added RSS generation during render and corrected the weekly cron DOW bug for east‑of‑UTC timezones. Opened roadmap items for alt themes and an embeddable SVG profile card.
Content and site
- Published two posts:
- Blog QA: external links now open in a new tab and OG images are included in RSS.
- Drafted a comparison piece: Penzu alternative for people who stopped writing (scheduled).
Launch and chatter
- Announced the tool on Bluesky and answered questions about how it summarizes activity (launch post got a small bump of likes).
- Captured the gist in one reply:
It parses intelligently. Collects PR titles/bodies, commit messages, release changelogs, reviews via GitHub API, then an LLM writes a narrative from that. How well it picks up context depends on the model you choose. Runs weekly on a cron.
- Follow‑up note: no default model — pick OpenRouter, Groq, Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, or Grok.
- Also shared the Reflectly vs deariary comparison angle.
Drive‑bys and maintenance
- Reviewed/approved 9 small dependency PRs and tidied branches across:
- circleci-tools/circleci-cli (3 approvals)
- bitflyer-tools/bitflyer-cli (2) and bitflyer-tools/bitflyer (1)
- irasutoya-tools/irasutoya (2) and irasutoya-tools/irasutoya-cli (1)
- A few push/cleanup touches on those repos’ master branches.
